NEW LONDON, CT — The Global Directory of Who’s Who proudly recognizes Yolanda I. Borbon, DDS, founder of J Jireh Family Dental, for her longstanding contributions to general dentistry and community service. Since opening her practice on July 2, 2002, Dr. Borbon has dedicated 24 years to providing dental care in New London, Connecticut. Her experience includes caring for geriatric patients and individuals in nursing homes, reflecting a professional commitment that extends across generations and care settings. Through her practice and service activities, she has made dental care a central part of her work both locally and internationally.

Dr. Borbon initially earned her dentistry degree from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines, and owned a dental practice in Davao for ten years before relocating to the United States. She subsequently earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University, completing a two-year course of study after successfully passing a challenge examination for foreign-trained dentists. She was one of 12 successful candidates among 35 who took the examination, an achievement that enabled her to complete the program in two years rather than the three-year course described. She continued her clinical training at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens, serving as chief resident during her second year before establishing her New London practice.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Borbon has supported community dental care through initiatives including Give Kids a Smile Day in 2008, when patients were referred to her office to receive care through the program. Her international service includes spending three months with an Indigenous community near Mount Pinatubo in Pampanga, Philippines, providing dental care with a focus on dentures. Her professional memberships include the American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, and New London County Dental Society. Fluent in English and Tagalog, Dr. Borbon brings an international perspective to her professional life. The Global Directory of Who’s Who celebrates her extensive dental experience, service to the New London community, and dedication to helping people through dentistry.
