Through his contributions to mathematics, scientific modeling, education, and artificial intelligence, Professor Collins has established a distinguished professional legacy spanning both academic and independent research.

Professor Collins earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Physics from Valparaiso University in Indiana, followed by a master’s degree in mathematics and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He went on to serve for 27 years as a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, where he contributed to the education and development of generations of students while continuing his own mathematical and scientific research.

His scholarly interests extend across a broad range of disciplines. Professor Collins is the author of Conflict in History, Measuring Symmetry, Thermodynamic Modeling and Other Work, which reflects his extensive exploration of mathematics, modeling, symmetry, and related scientific concepts. His research has also included work involving transformity and eigenvalue modeling with Professor H.T. Odum, as well as what Professor Collins describes as theodynamic modeling with Professor David Scienceman. Expanding his research into emerging technology, Professor Collins was involved in the development of an artificial intelligence patent in 2011 through his work with the Quantum History Institute.

Professor Collins has maintained extensive affiliations with leading scientific and mathematical organizations. He is associated with the American Mathematical Society, American Chemical Society, Mathematical Association of America, Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), SPIE—the international society for optics and photonics, American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and the New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS).
