With more than 27 years of clinical practice in the United States, Dr. Manov currently serves as Transitional Year Residency Program Director and Core Faculty of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Mountain View Hospital, part of the Sunrise Health GME Consortium in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is a Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Medicine, a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, and a Professor in Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism, and Internal Medicine at Touro University Medical College in Nevada.
Dr. Manov is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, and holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management from the University of Texas at Dallas. Originally from Bulgaria, he graduated valedictorian from the Medical University of Sofia, earning the prestigious Golden Hippocrates Statuette and Medal. In 1993, he completed a research fellowship at London Hospital Medical College in London, England, where he was the first to describe increased expression of the adhesion molecule CD44 in thyroid autoimmune diseases using snap-frozen tissue sections and cell cultures.
A nationally respected physician-scientist, Dr. Manov has authored 114 peer-reviewed publications in leading medical journals across the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Bulgaria. He previously served as Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at John Peter Smith Health Network in Fort Worth from 2008 to 2018, overseeing more than 200 physicians and directing multiple large-scale, multi-center clinical trials. At Sunrise Health GME, Dr. Manov is currently the Principal Investigator of a landmark prospective trial introducing Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) into internal medicine residency clinics—an initiative that earned First Place in the Quality Category at the Far West Division Research Symposium in 2022, 2023, and 2024. His clinical and academic interests focus on Type I and Type II Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome, insulin pump therapy, and CGM technology. A frequent national speaker and author of 10 chapters in English-language medical textbooks, Dr. Manov has been named Top Doctor in Texas (2018) and Nevada (2021, 2022, 2024), continuing to shape the future of internal medicine through leadership, scholarship, and a deep commitment to patient care and physician training.
