  • He is a veteran of Vietnam, twice decorated for heroism in combat with both Silver Star and Bronze Star with Valor device. In 1998, He restructured the the curriculum for the all-service Joint Special Operations Medical Training Center at Ft. Bragg, NC, resulting in uniform certification of all special operations medic as Paramedics by the National Registry of EMT's. He served as an associate professor of medicine at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland for six years and as a visiting professor in combat casualty care and advanced trauma resuscitation at the Joint Medical Readiness Training Center, San Antonio, Texas for ten years, He is also a veteran of deployments to Korea, Kuwait, Honduras, Iraq and Afghanistan, decorated with NATO Service Medal, Defense Meritorious Medal and Legion of Merit. He has published in Annals of Pharmacotherapy and has presented at the American Gastroenterology Society and Army School for Aviation Medicine.
