As CEO of the Columbus Medical Association and Affiliates, Dr. Falcone champions Physician led initiatives to improve the health of their patients and the community. The Affiliates include the Columbus Medical Association Foundation, The Physician’s Care Connection, the Central Ohio Trauma System, the Physicians Leadership Academy, and Made for Medicine. He most recently served as Vice President of Clinical Policy and Population Health for the Ohio Hospital Association, Chief of Staff of the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Chief of Staff of the Chalmers P Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center, and Acting Chief of Staff for the Jesse Brown VAMC. Prior to joining the VHA, he was President and COO for Grant Medical Center a 640 bed urban teaching Hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center in Columbus Ohio. His clinical background is in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care. A magna cum laude graduate of Kent State University, Dr. Falcone received his medical degree cum laude from The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Medicine. He completed his internship and surgical residency at Riverside Methodist Hospitals. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, and a Clinical Professor of Surgery at The OSU College of Medicine. Dr. Falcone is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and a member of the American Association of Surgery for Trauma and many other professional societies. His past roles in local and state associations have included President of the Central Ohio Trauma Systems Foundation Board of Trustees, Chair of the Ohio Committee on Trauma, and President of the Ohio Chapter American College of Surgeons.

Early life Robert (Roberto) Falcone was born in Italy to a Slovenian mother and an Italian father. He and his mother Sophie Kosir immigrated to the United States when he was a young child, where he was raised by his mother and her extended Slovenian family in Cleveland Ohio. His initial intention was to pursue a career in art and music, but took a detour to study his new found passion in Medicine. After establishing himself as a respected Trauma and Critical Care Surgeon, Educator, Medical Leader , Researcher and international Lecturer, he once again began to create Art and has pursued both his passions since. Career Magna cum laude graduate of Kent State University, Dr. Falcone received his medical degree cum laude from The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Medicine.
