About Alan D. Singer

Born in New York City in 1950, I have had a life-long interest in the visual arts having grown up in a family of artists. I am married to Anna Sears and we live in upstate, New York. My parents both had deep interest in art, my mom was a draftsperson and teacher and illustrator, and my father published many books with his artwork and illustrations of birds and animals. While I was in my 30s I collaborated with my father, Arthur Singer, to create books, stamps and first day covers with much success. We also exhibited our artwork together at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC.

For 32 years I have been teaching in the visual arts at Rochester Institute of Technology, and recently retired. I also like to write about visual art and have published many times. I exhibit paintings and prints in gallery shows and look forward to more of this kind of opportunity!
