About Philicia Jefferson Ph.D.
I am a counselor educator and a licensed practitioner. My focus has been in the area of mentoring and fostering the professional development of aspiring mental health counselors particularly those interested in establishing licensed mental health facilities. I am a Christian Counselor with a theocentric worldview. Being competent to counsel requires more than degrees and certifications. With such a tremendous demand for competent mental health practitioners, my present focus is building a support system that links veteran practitioners to aspiring and novice practitioners throughout the nation. The idea recipients of the support would be individuals who would benefit from professionals who embrace my vision of building a national, collaborative system of support that fosters the professional development of counselors.
