I have lived most of my life in West Texas. Following medical school in San Antonio, I did a three-year residency in internal medicine (Texas Tech HSC/Lubbock) and a two-year medical oncology fellowship in Oklahoma City, completing in 1990. I have a lifelong board certification in Internal Medicine (1988) and have had three certifications/recertifications in medical oncology (1991, 2001, 2011). Following ten years of private practice hematology/medical oncology in Texas (Arlington and Odessa), I moved on to academic medicine (Texas Tech HSC/Lubbock) for 21 years, and was given the Internal Medicine Teacher of the Year award in 2004 and the Unsung Hero award in 2015. I also was a long distance oncologist for the Childress Regional Medical Center (CRMC) beginning in 2014, and moved to Childress in 2021 to continue my work there, seeing a wide variety of oncology and hematology and internal medicine patients. I recently authored "Math is Wonderful!" and continue piano as a hobby.
