About:
I was born in the Philippines. My parents, who had gone to work in the US when I was a baby, came back for me when I was 6 years old. We lived in Lorain, OH. I graduated from Lorain High School, which is no longer there. I worked at Lorain Products in the summers of my high school years. After graduation, I attended Akron University where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. I then went to Wright State University in Dayton, OH for my Master's Degree in Biological Sciences. I started the Ph. D. program at Wright State but left to go to the medical school there. It is now known as Boonshoft School of Medicine. After graduation, I did my residency in Family Practice at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, OH. I then went to work with Premier Health at Brookville Family Care on 950 Salem St, Brookville. I was there when the building was being built. We recently moved to Mosier Parkway because we needed more space. There are now 3 doctors, including me, and 3 nurse practitioners. We are looking to add more providers. I currently supervise 2 nurse practitioners.
Premier Health is the primary academic and clinical partner for the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Together, they sponsor over a dozen medical residency and fellowship programs. I am involved in the WSU Medical Student (3rd year) preceptorship program. This involves a medical student coming to our office for 6 weeks. They can observe, interact with patients, practice physical exams, and learn medical decision-making in our office.
I have two children, Anjali and Michael. Anjali, is my oldest. She has seizure disorder and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). For the most part, she is a happy person. She loves to play video games and tennis. My son, Michael, is currently in medical school at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) in Rootstown, OH. He is undecided about which residency he wants to go into.
I recently published a children's book called Ask the Angels. It has 4 stories designed to help children cope with problems they may be having, whether at school or at home. It teaches them that they are loved, they are brave, and they are never alone.
