Lt. Thomas plays a vital role in ensuring medical readiness for Marines assigned to the base, as well as visiting training units conducting high-altitude exercises. With the nearest hospital located more than an hour away, she serves as a critical healthcare hub for the local military community, providing acute care for training-related injuries, comprehensive family medicine services, continuity care, medication management, and virtual health appointments for patients across California, including those affiliated with 29 Palms and China Lake.

Her commitment to military medicine is deeply personal—having witnessed her younger brother’s recovery from leukemia at a young age, she was inspired early in life to pursue a career in healthcare.
