About Victor M. Sternberg DMD

I am Victor M. Sternberg, DMD, a periodontist in Briarcliff Manor, New York, where I have maintained a private practice since 1973. My career began with the example of a dentist whose professionalism and kindness made a lasting impression on me as a young patient. That experience inspired me to enter a profession in which caring for people could be both my daily work and my contribution to the community.

I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University in 1969, served as a captain in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971, and completed specialty training in periodontology at Columbia University in 1973. Alongside patient care, I have taught at two dental schools, lectured to fellow dentists, and mentored students and early-career practitioners. Through my monthly blog, I also share perspectives on oral health, health care, and the importance of addressing tobacco use. My goal is to continue caring for my patients while helping other dental professionals develop the knowledge, judgment, and compassion that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
