About James P. Lee DDS

I am James P. Lee, DDS, founder and owner of the Lee Center for Cosmetic and Family Dentistry in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Since opening my practice in 1998, I have focused on building the kind of dental office where patients feel known, listened to and comfortable asking questions. Our motto, “We care,” guides the way my team and I approach every visit—from routine preventive care and fillings to cosmetic restorations and dental implant treatment.

I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan in 1990 and completed a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in implantology and periodontology there from 2009 to 2010. I am also completing a mini-residency in sleep apnea treatment at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. I view dentistry as both an art and a science, with health, function and appearance all deserving careful attention.

I care for adults and children and take particular care to understand the concerns of patients who feel anxious about dentistry. Clear explanations, individualized planning and appropriate comfort measures help us build trust together. I also welcome students into the practice for shadowing and mentorship. Sharing what I have learned is an important way to support the profession and encourage future dentists to bring skill, empathy and integrity to their work.
