Dr. Aparna Shah is a board-certified cornea, cataract and refractive surgeon practicing out of the greater Cincinnati area as well as in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Shah grew up in Michigan and graduated with honors from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Science degree.
She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and went on to complete her internship and ophthalmology residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. She then completed a cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic where she learned cutting edge corneal transplant and laser vision correction (LASIK & PRK) surgical techniques. While there, she received the Best Fellow Research Paper and Presentation Award for her work on DMEK (corneal transplant) surgery techniques.
Throughout her training, Dr. Shah has authored several research publications pertaining to the field and has presented her work at numerous national ophthalmic meetings. She continues to write articles and present amongst her colleagues at Ophthalmic meetings and via social media. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
In her free time, Dr. Shah is passionate about animals, traveling and fitness. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
