Willie L. Holmes Jr. has been with Dallas Independent School District for 3 and one half years. Mr. Holmes transitioned to Dallas ISD after a 5 year tenure with Dallas County Schools. Mr. Holmes ensures transportation safety and communication with parents and executive leadership. In addition Mr. Holmes coordinates with police when necessary, school leadership, and a variety of other departments that have the capability to assist with the advancement of student education. Mr. Holmes founded Raise The Roof, a youth organization that aided students in obtaining GED's, credit repair, and entrepreneurship. Born out of this organization was "Bridging The Gap" a Canadian talk show designed to give children and young people a voice. Information was also disseminated to equip youth with tools that would help bridge the gap with various relationship challenges. Mr. Holmes also started the Second Chance Program for youth, that had difficulties securing employment. Willie has received appreciation awards for his dedication. He is a member of TAPT and a supporter of Dallas ISD Mental Health Department.
