Singer Barbara A. Hawkins from the Dixie Cups was honored by the Global Who's Who

Tampa- Florida- Barbara A. Hawkins attended Southern University, for 2 years. Barbara is a Singer with ‘The Dixie Cups’ An American pop music girl group of the 1960. She is the only original member of the group left. The trio consisted of sisters Barbara Ann and Rosa Lee Hawkins, plus their cousin Joan Marie Johnson, from New Orleans.

In April 2007, the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame honored The Dixie Cups as inductees for their contributions to Louisiana music.

The group hit the top of the charts in 1964 with "Chapel of Love," which became their biggest hit, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in June 1964. 

Barbara does fundraisers for scholarships and charities and is currently doing a tribute Blue Lu Parker. She will be releasing a CD in 2023.
