Honors Dr. Winifred Ann Wolven

Dr. Winifred Ann Wolven was born in Washington, D.C., she earned a B.A. in English from Mary Baldwin College, an M.A. in Secondary English Education at Lynchburg College, an M.S. in Journalism at Northwestern University and an E.D.D. at Grand Canyon University. She is a Professor of English at Lincoln Trail College, a part of Illinois Eastern Community Colleges. She specializes in mentoring, teaching, online instruction, composition, English literature, mythology, hybrid and online teaching/learning. Dr. Wolven has co-Authored, wrote, and awarded Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Innovation in Technology Teaching Award grant to build an Audio-Visual Recording Studio on the Lincoln Trail College campus in 2017-18. She has been a Presenter at the OLC Innovate 2016 Conference and at the 46th, 48th, and 51st Illinois English Articulation Conference. She has earned a Lincoln Trail College Student Advantage Network Certificate of Appreciation from at-risk students (TRIO SSS) for 13 years and is a Lifetime Member of Cambridge Who's Who, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who Among American Women, Who's Who in America and Who's Who Among America's Teachers. Dr. Wolven is a Content Expert for doctoral learners at Grand Canyon University. She is a member of the NRA, NCTE, Online Learning Consortium, Elite Women Worldwide and the Lincoln Trail College Foundation. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, dog rescue, family activities and fossil hunting.
