The Global Directory of Who’s Who is pleased to recognize James W. Cahill, MD, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, for his professional accomplishments in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. Dr. Cahill specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle; ACL reconstruction; hip, knee, and shoulder joint replacement; adult and pediatric sports medicine; and trauma care. He serves as Director of Sports Medicine at St. Peter’s University and is a senior attending physician and one of the founding members of the Center for Joint Replacement at Hackensack University Medical Center. His hospital affiliations also include Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey, and Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey.
Dr. Cahill’s educational background includes undergraduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and a medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. He completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, in the Bronx, New York. He further developed his expertise through fellowship training in sports medicine and pediatric orthopedics at The Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute in New York. His additional qualifications include certification in MAKO robotic surgery for joint replacement and autologous chondrocyte implantation for cartilage repair.
Dr. Cahill’s professional affiliations include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, New Jersey Orthopedic Association, Bergen County Medical Society, and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. His clinical specialties, advanced surgical training, and leadership roles reflect a career encompassing sports-related injuries, joint reconstruction, and orthopedic care for adults and children.
