HICKSVILLE, NEW YORK — The Global Directory of Who’s Who is pleased to recognize Dr. Desirie Skeete, owner of NESS Behavior Consulting and NESS Cares, for her professional leadership, community advocacy, authorship, and commitment to expanding access to behavioral, mental health, and special education resources for children and families. Based in Hicksville, New York, Dr. Skeete, recently divorced and formally known as Dr. Sykes, has built her professional work around Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), behavioral support, family advocacy, community education, and connecting parents with qualified providers and essential services.
Through NESS Behavior Consulting and NESS Cares, Dr. Skeete works to strengthen collaboration among families, educators, behavioral professionals, and community service providers. Her community initiatives include sensory-resource donations, educational panels addressing mental health and special education, parent-resource assistance, and efforts to connect professionals who can collectively provide more comprehensive support to families. Her commitment to education and advocacy is also expanding internationally through an initiative in Jamaica, West Indies, where she is working to provide special educators with additional training and resources for supporting children with behavioral needs.
Dr. Skeete’s educational background includes a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Russell Sage College and a Bachelor of Science in Professional Communications from Farmingdale State College. She has also received an honorary doctorate through TIUA School of Business. In recognition of her leadership and service, she was honored with the 2024 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
In addition to her work in behavioral services and community advocacy, Dr. Skeete is an accomplished author. She wrote the self-help book Who Do You Think You Are?, available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and is a co-author of the business anthology Moguls Unleashed: Secrets of Business Brilliance. Her published work reflects the same themes that guide her professional career: personal development, empowerment, leadership, and helping others recognize their potential.
