Linwood, NJ – The Global Directory of Who’s Who is proud to honor Dr. Allen Silvey, Founder and CEO of MedCorps Asthma & Pulmonary Specialists, for his exceptional leadership and contributions to the field of pulmonary medicine. Since launching the thriving multi-state practice with his wife, Carolyn, in 2015, Dr. Silvey has advanced patient care through innovation, research, and clinical expertise. His vision has guided the practice’s expansion across New Jersey and into Kentucky, while also establishing a high-complexity laboratory specializing in respiratory pathogen PCR testing, allergy blood analysis, and complete blood counts. As Principal Investigator on national and international clinical trials, Dr. Silvey has played a key role in shaping advancements in the treatment of asthma, COPD, and early lung cancer detection.
Dr. Silvey’s academic foundation reflects his commitment to excellence. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky before earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine, now Rowan University. Today, he continues to serve as Medical Director for long-term ventilator programs in nursing and rehabilitation centers, where his expertise in critical care and ventilator management directly impacts patient outcomes. His publications include contributions as Principal Investigator for several national and international clinical studies, including the BOSTON II trial on early lung cancer detection using small RNA signatures.
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Silvey proudly served his country, earning an honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps in 1997 and later retiring as a Battalion Surgeon with the New Jersey Army National Guard in 2015. His professional affiliations include the American Osteopathic Association and the Society of Critical Care Medicine, where he continues to advocate for excellence in his field. Actively involved in his community, Dr. Silvey supports organizations such as the South Jersey Food Bank, and at home, he is a devoted husband and father of four.
