Global Directory of Who’s Who Recognizes B. Eric Jones, M.D., for Excellence in Medical Retina Care

Baltimore, Maryland- The Global Directory of Who’s Who proudly recognizes B. Eric Jones, M.D., an experienced ophthalmologist and retina specialist whose career has been devoted to the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of retinal disease. Dr. Jones specializes in medical retina care, with a particular focus on macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and inherited retinal disease. After many years working in group and academic settings, he established his independent solo private practice in 2024 and currently operates offices in Towson and Dundalk, Maryland.

Dr. Jones earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, completed his ophthalmology residency at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, and received advanced retina specialty training at Northwestern University in Chicago. Since completing his residency in 1996, he has worked in a variety of clinical settings including two separate five-year periods in academic medicine, with appointments at the University of Maryland and George Washington University, while continuing to work with private group practices. Dr. Jones now concentrates on medical retina services, including evaluation with fundus autofluorescence photography and fluorescein angiography, intravitreal eye injections,and office based procedures for the management of eye disease.

A Lifetime HEED Fellow, Dr. Jones has authored or contributed to 35 professional publications and maintains affiliations with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. Looking ahead, Dr. Jones plans to continue caring for patients with complex retinal conditions while providing "patient first" care for each patient.
