Fatima Vilich MD, IFMCP, Associate Professor earned her medical degree from the Medical School of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1982. She completed her internship and began her Internal Medicine residency in the former Yugoslavia before relocating to the United States during the war. She subsequently completed her Anesthesiology Residency at Northwestern University in Chicago and pursued a Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Rising to become Director of the Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia Unit and Chairman of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia at Loyola University Maywood, she specialized in anesthesia for congenital pediatric heart repair procedures and pediatric acute and chronic pain management. Promoted to Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Fatima Vilich MD, IFMCP, Associate Professor became one of Chicago’s most sought-after pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists. She has shared her expertise as a speaker at the American Society of Anesthesiology and the Midwest Anesthesia Conference, and her research has been published in Anesthesia and Analgesia. Following her personal recovery from debilitating chronic back pain through functional medicine approaches, she transitioned from academic anesthesiology to functional medicine, completing her fellowship and earning certification as an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP).

Today, Fatima Vilich MD, IFMCP, Associate Professor continues to make a profound impact through Vibrant Health, initially established in the Chicago suburbs and later expanded to Utah.
