Dr. Rubin S. Cooper was born March 22, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York. He earned a B.A. in Biology at Yeshiva University, his M.D. from New York Medical College and he completed his Residency and Internship in Pediatrics at Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr. Cooper is Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, as well as Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line at the North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System. He is Professor of Pediatrics at Zucker Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine. Dr. Cooper has been named New York Best Doctors, Top Doctors New York Metro Area and Best Doctors in America. He has received the Harris Fellow Medallion and Certificate and is a member of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International from 2001-present. Dr. Cooper is a Fellow of the American Heart Association, a Fellow of the American Society of Pediatrics and member of the American College of Cardiology, New York Pediatric Society, Suffolk Pediatric Society, Nassau Pediatric Society, New York Academy of Sciences and the Harvey Society.
