Dr. Stanmore earned his Doctor of Medicine from Meharry Medical College in partnership with Vanderbilt University and later received his Juris Doctor from both Birmingham School of Law and Cumberland School of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from Southwestern Union College. His medical service is marked by distinguished honors, including the Achievement Medal from the U.S. Army and the prestigious Surgeon General Award, where he served as a Senior Assistant Flight Surgeon. He completed an internship at the Centers for Disease Control and contributed to national health efforts by authoring scientific criteria on the usage of melatonin, herbicides, and pesticides.
His affiliations span respected organizations such as the American Medical Association (AMA), National Medical Association (NMA), American College of Emergency Physicians, Sigma Delta Kappa, and the Urgent Care Association of America (UCAA). He has also contributed his time and leadership to Crippled Children’s Hospital and the Boys Club of America. Outside his professional accomplishments, Dr. Stanmore is a world traveler and a man of many talents, enjoying chess, hiking, piano, violin, and racquetball.
