Dr. Spellman currently serves as Chief of Surgery at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Delaware, where he brings over 30 years of expertise in advanced surgical cancer treatment.

Dr. Spellman earned his Doctor of Medicine from Thomas Jefferson Medical School, completed his residency at Stanford Hospital in Connecticut, and pursued a prestigious fellowship at the Pritzker School of Medicine, University of Chicago, he was on the staff at Roswell Park in the department of Surgical Oncology, a division of soft tissue sarcoma and melanoma. He is a Fellow of the Society of Surgical Oncology (FSSO) as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Spellman is Board Certified in General Surgery. 

Affiliated with Rehoboth Health Campus, Dr. Spellman performs a wide range of complex cancer procedures at the Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus. He has been recognized with the Golden Apple Award, a testament to his excellence in teaching and mentoring. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Spellman plays a strategic leadership role as Vice Chair of the Cancer Consortium, helping guide collaborative efforts to advance cancer care in the region.
