Dr. Chalk is currently affiliated with South Texas Health System McAllen and Rio Grande Rigional Hospital, where he specializes in comprehensive vascular care for adult patients, ranging from ages 18 to 65 and older. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and the Society for Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Chalk began his medical training at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico before earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College in 2003. He completed his General Surgery Residency at Michigan State University and further specialized through a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Chalk provides culturally competent care to a diverse patient population in the Rio Grande Valley.
His clinical expertise includes both minimally invasive and open surgical treatments for vascular conditions such as peripheral artery disease, limb loss prevention, and complex venous disease. He also performs balloon angioplasty, atherectomy, stent placements, and bypass surgery. In addition to his work at South Texas Health System McAllen, he is affiliated with Rio Grande Regional Hospital, is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI), and is a Formally Certified Wound Specialist Physician by the American Board of Wound Management. Dr. Chalk’s clinical excellence and dedication to patient-centered care make him a leading figure in vascular surgery
