Fort Worth, TX – The Global Directory of Who’s Who proudly recognizes Dr. Yvette R. Johnson, MD, MPH, FAAP, of Cook Children’s Medical Center, for her exceptional contributions to neonatal-perinatal medicine and her unwavering dedication to improving outcomes for high-risk newborns. As a board-certified specialist in both Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, Dr. Johnson provides expert care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), where she manages complex cases and supports the most vulnerable patient populations. Her clinical focus on neonatal outcomes and neurodevelopmental assessments reflects her commitment not only to survival, but to the long-term health and development of each child. She is also honored as an Endowed Chair with Cook Childrens Hospital as well as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at TCU Burnett School of Medicine and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), underscoring her leadership and impact in the field. In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Johnson serves as the Medical Director of the N.E.S.T. Developmental Follow-up Center, a newly established program dedicated to supporting NICU graduates through ongoing developmental monitoring and care. Through this innovative initiative, she leads multidisciplinary efforts to ensure early identification of developmental needs and to provide families with the resources necessary for continued success beyond the NICU. Her work bridges critical gaps between acute neonatal care and long-term pediatric development, positioning her as a forward-thinking leader in comprehensive neonatal care models. Dr. Johnson earned her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where she also completed her residency and fellowship training at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, gaining extensive experience in both clinical care and research. She remains actively engaged in advancing neonatal medicine through her involvement in leading professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, where she contributes to the Committee on Fetus and Newborn. She is also a member of the Texas Pediatric Society’s Fetus and Newborn Committee, the Children’s Hospital Neonatal Database (CHND), the Cerebral Palsy Research Network (CPRN), and serves on the executive committee of the Neonatal Outcomes Network (NEON) Texas Statewide Follow-up Collaborative. Additionally, she contributes to the AAP SONPM Follow-up Task Force, further demonstrating her commitment to shaping best practices and improving neonatal outcomes on both a state and national level.
