Board certified in Medical Oncology and practicing since 2011, Dr. Benjamin specializes in the treatment of breast cancer, genitourinary malignancies, and prostate cancer. Dr. Benjamin earned his medical degree from Masaryk University in the Czech Republic, completed his Internal Medicine Residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University, and pursued a two-year Medical Oncology Fellowship at the University of Manitoba in Canada.

Inspired to enter oncology after witnessing his grandfather’s battle with esophageal cancer, Dr. Benjamin developed an early fascination with the human sciences and a deep desire to support individuals facing cancer diagnoses. He has maintained a longstanding relationship with SUNY Upstate Medical University since 2005 and has served as an attending physician and faculty member since 2011, contributing more than two decades of service to the institution in various capacities. In addition to providing exceptional patient care, he is actively involved in clinical trials, research initiatives, and mentoring the next generation of physicians. His academic responsibilities include training medical students, residents, and fellows while participating in lectures, educational programs, and public speaking engagements. A member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Dr. Benjamin has authored numerous scholarly publications indexed on PubMed, reflecting his dedication to advancing cancer treatment and improving patient outcomes.

Beyond his clinical and academic achievements, Dr. Benjamin remains committed to serving the broader community through educational outreach and initiatives conducted through SUNY Upstate Medical University. Working within a tertiary referral center environment, he helps bring specialized oncology care and knowledge to patients and healthcare professionals alike. Guided by the philosophy that success comes from “getting to know patients intimately, guiding them through both the highs and lows of their journey, and relating to what they are going through,” Dr. Benjamin continues to embody compassion, excellence, and leadership in medicine.
