Dr. Mario Lopez: 37 Years of Exceptional Cardiology Care for Charlotte County Residents

Port Charlotte, FL – The Global Directory of Who’s Who is honored to recognize Dr. Mario Lopez, MD, F.A.C.C., for his outstanding contributions to the field of cardiology. For over 37 years, Dr. Lopez has served the Charlotte County community as a board-certified interventional cardiologist, offering life-saving and compassionate care to countless patients.

Dr. Lopez received his Doctor of Medicine from Universidad Central del Este in the Dominican Republic (1978-1981) before completing his internship and residency in internal medicine at Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, New Jersey (1981-1984). He went on to further specialize in cardiovascular disease with a fellowship at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, New Jersey (1984-1986), and completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at the Albert Einstein Medical Center (1986-1987). These experiences laid the foundation for Dr. Lopez's expertise in coronary intervention, cardiac catheterization, and stent deployment.

Over the years, Dr. Lopez has become a trusted and beloved figure in the Port Charlotte community. Although he has stepped back from interventional procedures, his commitment to providing comprehensive general cardiology care remains unwavering. He continues to offer treatment for conditions such as coronary artery disease, chronic high blood pressure, and cardiomyopathy, ensuring his patients receive the highest level of care, with access to any necessary additional resources.

He served as the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Fawcett Hospital more than 20 years ago. Currently, he is the President and Founder of the Charlotte Heart and Vascular Center in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Dr. Lopez’s career is defined by his dedication to improving the lives of his patients, and he is committed to continuing this legacy as a trusted cardiology consultant in the years to come.
