From 1990 to 1998, he served on the faculty of the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine, Cooper Campus in Camden, New Jersey, before relocating to Delaware and eventually assuming leadership of the practice. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Sunnergren has built and maintained a thriving multi-physician cardiology practice and established a comprehensive device monitoring program serving approximately 1,000 patients with pacemakers, ICDs, and defibrillators. His commitment to innovation led to the implementation of advanced PET-CT cardiac imaging technology and the development of a full-time device nurse program, setting his practice apart in delivering specialized cardiovascular care. Widely respected for his expertise in pacemaker implantation, stress testing, echocardiography, vascular studies, and diagnostic cardiac catheterization, Dr. Sunnergren continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of his patients and the cardiology community. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he values family above all and is the proud father of seven children and grandfather of 11 grandchildren, with an 12th grandchild expected.
