Philadelphia, PA – The Global Directory of Who’s Who proudly honors Dr. Bong-Soo Kim, MD, FAANS, for his outstanding contributions to neurosurgery and spine surgery. A distinguished leader in the field, Dr. Kim currently serves as Professor of Neurosurgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. He is also Director of Neurosurgical Spine Surgery and heads the Minimally Invasive & Complex Spine Fellowship Program at Temple University Hospital.
Dr. Kim earned his medical degree from the Catholic University of Korea, College of Medicine in Seoul in 1991 and completed dual neurosurgery residencies at Temple University Hospital and the Catholic University of Korea. He further specialized with prestigious fellowships in Minimally Invasive and Complex Spinal Surgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Stereotaxis at the Cleveland Clinic. A dedicated humanitarian, he volunteered as a physician in Bangladesh from 1996 to 1999.
Board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, Dr. Kim is a respected member of several elite medical societies, including the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the North American Spine Society. He also contributes globally through his involvement with the Spine Committee of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies where he was a former executive committee member. Dr. Kim has been named among Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Doctors in Neurological Surgery for three consecutive years (2023–2025), a testament to his clinical expertise and leadership in advancing spinal care.
